OK so it’s hype headline. I know. But have you read the
book “the secret”?
Now this seems to have become the holy grail in the
ML.M / home business world. After 10 YEARS of personal
experience and 9 business attempts and using the principles of
the “secret” for a decade (7 years without knowing and 3 years fully aware)
I have come to the following real conclusion.
As Catherine Tates grandmother character would say
“what a load of old ***” (excuse the french but I am from Essex don’t you know).
Now I am really going to dig deeper on this subject
over the coming months but after 10 years of always believing
it would be ok and watching hundreds of other people
pinning all their financial hopes a so called law of attraction
will deliver success I am left with only one conclusion to draw.
There is no connection between ones thoughts and a physical result.
None. Zip, Nadda. Nowt. You see what we are being sold
is a theory that by thinking and feeling something enough it will materialise.
Wrong!
My 10 years of experiences are mixed with great learning, hard work,
huge belief and even when I did everything right it still failed.
In fact my best friend, whom I taught a property strategy to, ended
up with 3 houses and I lost £15k?? How? Was I not thinking
positively enough? Did I not believe it enough?
My best friend’s attitude is actually very wary and he was less than convinced it would work but work it did – for him.
Now this is just one of 9 different experiences that I can use
plus hundreds of others from other people.
So lets get to whats what. There is a law and its not the law of attraction its the law of averages. So if you continue to learn and grow and improve and develope and improve and grow and learn and try and try and try then you will at some point get some success. The law of averages says that when you do enough eventually something will work for you.
When? I Don’t know.
But you need to be in action and the real secret is
persistance on a huge scale.
Even my favourite Internet marketer in the whole world
has launched 78 internet businesses and 38 of them failed.
(but they gave him huge lessons that led to improvements that led to success)
Now I could ramble on more and I probably will
in the coming weeks but when I turned the corner
and started to make real money was when I decided
to learn, grow, develope, and persist.
The secret is there is no secret and my sincere advice
for anyone using this principle and thinking it will actually bring
something to you is stop.
But you know something, the real unfortunate thing is when
someone uses the “secret” and some success comes fast
as they then wrongly believe it was the secret that did it for them!
Wrong again. How could this possibly be true unless “it” chooses who
to deliver to. You see in order for this to be the ultimate truth it must
work all the time for all who use it and it most certainly does not.
“The Secret” does not choose who to deliver to just as “it” does not deliver anything.
For the few who have had the “coincidence” of success when they
applied principles from the secret I have words of caution. To
promote this way of thinking without action and persistence is
playing with fire. I have a decade of real life experience to argue
with even the most avid supporter of this new world cult (and it is a cult).
It is the action and growth and persistance that will deliver and nothing else.
I leave you with this thought. Who financed “The Secret” and who got very rich from it’s sales? Answer that and you have answered the whole marketing story and it’s true purpose.
What are your thoughts? Comments welcome below.
